Endangered Species Biological Assessment(ESA)

 

The District has attended several meetings with the Bureau of Reclamation regarding the endangered species act(ESA). The Districts have invested a lot of time and money to promote good science with the Bureau of Reclamation to help them update and improve the Supplemental Biological Assessment. A final draft Supplement Biological Assessment was submitted to the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration(NOAA)on behalf of the Districts in January 2009 for review. The Districts continue to assist NOAA and the Bureau in developing a Biological Opinion that does not effect the District operations.   

Protecting the water rights in the District is very important. The process with the ESA Cinsultation is very expensive. Medford Irrigation Distriact would like to thank all the Patrons for their support on this extremely important issue.
